The Aransas Pass Police Explorer Post 347 was formed in 2002 with the assistance of Edelmiro Garcia a former Police Officer with 15 years of service and now teacher of the Aransas Pass High School of 18 years and former Aransas Pass Police Chief Darrell Jones of 35 years of service. The Aransas Pass Police Explorer Post 347 joined the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Learning for Life Program on July 31st, 2015.

In 2021 our board of directors were notified that some of the area youth were interested in pursing a career in the medical and fire fields. So our directors reached out to Tri County and APFD to join forces for our explorers to expand training in the first responder fields.

Fun Fact: The Aransas Pass Police Department currently has 5 employees who were previously Explorers for the Aransas Pass Police Explorer Post 347.
